DISCLAIMER: This is, of course, just the starting 53-man roster. As the year plays out, some will get injured, some might get cut, and new players might be added. With two suspended players, four on PUP, and a short list for back-up offensive linemen, changes are inevitable.

    1. Thanks for the catch. Not sure how that happened since I just copy/paste the info from Packers.com…

    1. They wanted him last year as well.
“All good things to those who wait.” Wish him luck in all but two games.

  1. No waver clams for O-linemen. I’m guessing we will have a vet signed soon? I hope Pickett and Raji are 100% because the niners will try to run on us with Gore and Jaccobs. That’s why I thought they may have kept Muir for a game. A big part of the game Sunday will be the play of Newhouse. If he can block the talented niners D line, the pack will cruz on offense. Can’t wait till game day.

  2. If they sign a veteran OL prior for the first regular season game, they guarantee his salary for the entire season. Look for TT to grab a veteran after the SF game. They usually active only 7 OL on game day anyway.

    1. aaronqb – your thinking is right on target for a TT move. I wish he’d look into quality(however that’s defined)Oline help. I look at this group knowing Sherrod won’t be on the field for at least 6 weeks of PUP and more to get back into playing shape. On top of that he didn’t show he was capable of playing tackle in the time he was on the field last year. This could be a high risk area all year long.

  3. Capers has had a full year of sub-par play, a full off-season and the pre-season to fix the D. The D is sprinkled with some outstanding players and a whole lot of young and inexperienced players in key roles. Just how good is Capers and his staff at evaluation and, more importantly, how good are they at teaching.

The hope/concern I have is just how the Dline and ILB’s are used. Last year and this pre-season, for that mater, the rush would make contact and hold their position rather than try to break the block and penetrate. The one thing that screws up a running game and gives the QB reason to panic is penetration. I hyave to believe that must be in the plan. The big question is, can they penetrate? We’ll see in the 49er game. They better!
