The Green Bay Packers have placed tight end Andrew Quarless and rookie safety Sean Richardson on the season-ending injured reserve.

Quarless had not played at all in 2012 due to swelling in his knee after suffering a torn ACL and MCL last season. He came off the physically unable to perform list Nov. 7 but was never able to get back to full strength.

Richardson had been active for five games this season and ranked sixth on the team in special teams tackles. He was on the injury report this week with a back injury but didn’t appear to be in jeopardy of missing the rest of the season.

Richardson missed six games with a hamstring injury.

To fill the void on the 53-man roster, the Packers signed running back DuJuan Harris and wide receiver Jeremy Ross from the practice squad. According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Harris had been impressive on the practice squad, even earning some snaps with the No. 1 offense.

Harris is expected to see play on special teams and be the team’s No. 3 running back Sunday against the Vikings.

Ross was signed to the Packers’ practice squad a week before Harris. His role is expected to be primarily on special teams.

  1. i have never seen dujuan harris play but i already think that he is the Packers’ best running back.

    he should start.

  2. Losing Benson and Bulaga was one thing but losing Quarless for the season is the death knell for the Packers season.

It’s alright, we’ll rebound in the draft. Get some lineman. Maybe a center who isn’t 400 years old. Maybe a defensive end or two.

    Maybe next year?

    1. You really think losing Quarless is that big of a loss? He hasn’t played all season…

  3. Thge Packer Medical staff is continuing their string of unsuccessful treatments. They need to get rid of McKn=enzie and his minions now! Peterson has an ACL and MCL and in less than a year he is the best runner in football. GB needs diagnosis and tretment skills like this.

The game tomorrow is the hands of a really crappy Oline. Unless they play over their heads, Sunday night’s debacle was just the beginning. MM needs to seriously out-coach the Queenie defense.

    1. Ron – That is just ignorant. McKenzie and his staff are very qualified. You are basing your opinion of some very qualified physicians on nothing more than chance.

IF there is anything behind GB’s injuries, it’s MM’s offseason program.

  4. Every injury to a player is not the same as an injury to another player. You cannot compare them. GB just needs to play it one game at a time and try to win the division, or at least make into the play offs and then get hot and make the run to the big prize.

  5. Why wasn’t Andrew Datko activated to the Active Roster? We just put Quarless and Richardson on IR. We brought up two players from our practice squad: Ross and Harris…a WR and a RB…..who will never see the field. Datko seems like the logical fit because we have major depth issues at OT. I was hoping that Datko would get called up right after the Bulaga injury. He was coming around during the last part of the preseason and seemed to be getting it figured out. Do you have any idea why these moves were made? We are one injury away from DISASTER on our O-Line…….it’s crazy that we are so thin.

  6. The Packers have a systematic problem with conditioning. They get hit with injuries week after week because the players are not in football shape. The practices that I have witnessed at Nitschke field were pathetic. Guys standing around half the time.
