Week 16 Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Name Record To-Date This Week’s Pick Score Prediction
Kris Burke 9-5 Green Bay Packers 35-17
Angry Rodgers makes an appearance and the Packers get a much bigger win that it should be, thanks to the loss in Buffalo last week. The Packers overall make a statement that they’re aren’t out of contention yet and set up a HUGE Week 17 game at Lambeau against the Lions.
“Jersey” Al Bracco 10-4 Green Bay Packers  31-16
Something tells me this will be a comfortable win, but not a huge blowout. Lovie Smith will take serious notes from the Bills tape and make things at least “not easy” for Rodgers and the Packers. Eventually, the Packers will solve it and coast to a comfy win.
Adam Czech 11-3 Green Bay Packers  31-17
The Packers will win, but there will still be some lingering concerns after. Lovie Smith always plays the Packers tough and Tampa’s two stud WRs will make some plays.
Thomas Hobbes 10-4 Green Bay Packers 35-10
Rodgers is presumably pissed and he’s going to take it out on the Bucs, nothing else matters
Chad Toporski 10-4 Green Bay Packers 42-27
Bounce back game against the worst team in a horrible division… ’nuff said.
Jason Perone 11-3 Green Bay Packers  41-21
The Packers got a wake-up call last week in Buffalo.  There are no gimme’s in the NFL but despite Green Bay’s historic struggles in Tampa, there will be no letdown this week.  Tampa will come out fired up under Lovie Smith, who knows Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers well.  Still, the Packers are head and shoulders above the Bucs in talent level and it shows on the final scoreboard.
Jay Hodgson 10-4 Green Bay Packers 35-17
After a complete stinker in Buffalo, the Packers come back focused and hungry. The pass offense gets back on track and the defense continues their rebound.
Mike Reuter 0-0 Green Bay Packers 38-13
The Packers have won in Tampa only once since Aaron Rodgers started high school. Rodgers has played in Tampa twice and is 0-2 in those games with 6(!) picks. Both of those games came in Rodgers first two years of starting. But all of that was 5+ years ago, so who cares. This year the Bucs have yet to win at home. They have averaged scoring an NFL worst 15.2 points per game at home while allowing 24.5 points per game at home, that’s the 7th most in the NFL. They are now without Gerald McCoy, their sack leader who is also 4th on the team is passes defensed with only 3. Packers roll in this one, I’d be shocked if it was by less than 20.
Cory Jennerjohn 11-3 Green Bay Packers 31-13
The Packers will choke the life out of the Tampa Bay offense thanks to a stifling pressure defense. The offense breathes a sigh of relief without seeing defensive tackle Gerald McCoy — ranked as the No. 2 DT according to Pro Football Focus. Add in Aaron Rodgers’ chip on his shoulder and the Bucs’ are in deep trouble.
Andy Burch 10-4 Green Bay Packers 35-20
The Buccaneers are horrible and have nothing to play for except for a higher draft pick. The Packers have everything to play for. No way the Packers lose this game. The Bucs don’t disguise their coverage and they show you what they’re going to play on defense. When the players aren’t good, then that defensive scheme is easily exposed. Rodgers should have a field day, even on the road.

  1. Welcome aboard Mike Reuter. A big sigh with a comfortable win tomorrow. No yelling at the TV screen, standing then sitting then standing. No questioning of play calls, and most of all (besides a victory) no injuries. As we raise a glass of our finest spirit to an easy victory.

    1. Thanks man. Here’s hoping it’s not Buffalo/Miami all over again… I don’t see how it could be, but you never know. Especially with the receivers the Bucs have.

If it’s going to be close I think it’s more likely to be a shootout than a defensive struggle like the Buffalo/Miami games were. As Cory’s piece said earlier today, they need to get to the QB and that’s squarely on the shoulders of Matthews/Peppers to get it going.

Here’s hoping for a relaxing Sunday.

      Go Pack Go!

  2. Game is going to be way closer than the chatter, but Pack still finds a way to win on the road, in spite of the antics of Mssr’s. Slocum, Capers and McCarthy.

  3. First of all Welcome to Mike Reuter. Nice job so far! Second, the Packers received an early Christmas present from the Eagles as they lost to the Redskins today, which means the Lions are in the playoffs. Third, Aaron Rodgers returns from his personal bye for the Buffalo game and the Packers win 34-14. Maybe the Lions take their foot of the gas and slip up against the Bears. In any case, no let up, and no excuses for the Packers in Tampa. Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since ’61

    1. Bears are dead as a team and Cutler is detested. Hard to win with that kind of internal strife. This would be a huge upset and I hope the Bears win. Bears can’t keep Cutler and they can’t get rid of him. Maybe he plays the game of his life.
