Green Bay Packers Trim Roster to 75

The Green Bay Packers needed to get to trim their roster from 88 players to 75 by 4PM EST today.

The Packers began their first wave of cuts on Sunday when they cut 7 players –

  1. WR. Chris Harper
  2. WR. Gerrard Shepard
  3. FB. Ina Liaina
  4. QB. Chase Rettig
  5. S. Charles Clay
  6. CB. Antonio Dennard
  7. LB. Korey Jones

None of those players have yet to be signed by another team.

The Packers then got to 75 by cutting no one else and instead placing 6 injured players on Injured Reserve.

  1. DT. B. J. Raji
  2. WR. Jared Abbrederis
  3. RB. Rajion Neal
  4. T/G. Don Barclay
  5. LB. Joe Thomas
  6. G. Andrew Tiller

The Packers could try to work out injury settlements with Tiller, Neal and Thomas, allowing for the possibility of return later this year.

The Packers also announced they had reached such a settlement with Colt Lyerla. It’s an 8 week injury settlement and then the leagure requires a six week waiting period before the player can be signed, fso for Lyerla, Week 14 would be the earliest possible return.

  1. I sure hope this move with Lyerla works out if not I believe they just made a big mistake letting this kid get away! He will be one of the best TE’s in the NFL one day!
