Week 13: Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants
Name Record To-Date This Week’s Pick Score Prediction
Kris Burke 11-0 New York Giants 28-24
Everything in my gut says this is the week the streak ends for the Packers. I hope I’m wrong.  One big reason is the Giants have a knack for upsetting undefeated teams: the 1998 Broncos and most notably the 2007 New England Patriots.  The Giants defense is still very talented and people are writing them off far too early.  I don’t need to remind people what the Giants did in 2007.

“Jersey” Al Bracco 11-0 Green Bay Packers 35-13
While the Giants have the “wounded animal” effect going for them, the Packers have had a mini bye week and were able to watch how NO dismantled the Giants D.  Pack rolls on.
Adam Czech 10-1 Green Bay Packers 33-26
I don’t like having two offensive linemen out with injuries, but the way Aaron Rodgers is going, it’s not going to stop the Packers from improving to 12-0.
Thomas Hobbes 11-0 Green Bay Packers 27-17
The Giants are the most schizophrenic team in the NFL; they can be completely dominant or get completely dominated.  Will the defensive front four be like: vs. New England or vs. New Orleans?  Will Brandon Jacobs be the big bruising back that the Packers have trouble with or a aging malcontent averaging 3.1 ypc?  I think it would it would take every phase being on for the Giants to have a shot at beating the Packers and the Packers are simply consistently excellent.
Zach Kruse 9-2 Green Bay Packers 37-30
The Giants team that showed up on Monday night won’t be one the Packers see on Sunday, but what ailed them on defense against the Saints isn’t just a one week fix, especially with the game’s best quarterback coming to town. The Giants offense should score, too, but it won’t be enough to knock the Packers off the unbeaten trail.
Chad Toporski 10-1 Green Bay Packers 34-24
Thanks to my brother’s employer, I will finally have the opportunity to watch my first live Packers game. Metlife Stadium is no Lambeau Field, but watching the Giants’ season continue to deflate will be fun wherever they play. Keep an eye out for me and Al in the green and gold!

  1. Sorry to say it but, Giants will win. I don’t see them anywhere near as good as the Pack, but they’re in desperation mode and they’ll be angry about what the Packers did to them last season.

If they get even ONE chance to hit Rodgers hard, they will do it. He’s gonna get banged up.

    1. Well, maybe what I’m trying to say is that this is a game that the Giants SHOULD win. Packers are fully capable of winning, but I won’t be surprised if the Giants play real tough and end up on top.

      1. The packers SHOULD never lose to a team like the giants. If the packers lose it will be because they do something careless. red zone fumble or tipped INT.

The front four of the Giants has more reputation than ability right now. Umenyora (sp?) is out. Justin Tuck is banged up and does not look like himself. Their secondary has been decimated by injuries. Rodgers has played well against the giants at their place in the past. Oakland is the team that scares me right now, not the Giants.

        1. I never said I thought the Giants were all that scary. On paper they’re a good team but nothing even close to the Packers.

My point is just that they’re extremely desperate. At some point, this late season collapse that has been going on for years, has to end for them.

There is every “emotional” reason for them to win this game. I won’t be surprised if it’s a close game. I can just imagine the Packers only squeaking this one out.

  2. Only one thing scares me, Bishop, the only tackler on the team is out. On the other hand Hawk is out. And that’s an improvement in tackling right there (DJ loves to tackle – a short Bishop). And don’t forget MM with 10 days to plan for a specific team is on another planet.

    Kris loses his perfect record!

    1. A win gives a good shot at secruing NFC North on Sunday. Motitivation! Also Giant DC says Rodgers can’t throw on his back. More motivation!

      1. Don’t forget Skip Bayless, who is a secret Aaron Rodgers fan because of his Fantasy Team.

        Motivation.

  3. A couple of keys not mentioned: 1) Injuries
RB Bradshaw and LB Boley are listed as questionable. If they can play effectively the Giants have a chance.
    2) Cobb…I think he will tilt the field twice this game.

The Packers could win by 30 or lose. W/ the aid of the mini bye, Neal’s 3rd game back, Cobb returning kicks, Capers having the D in playoff stretch mode, and a key contribution from Saine I think Packers win 30-20.

  4. I simply accept the fact that we may lose a game this regular season but,I do not accept simply, that we will lose in the post season.
Therefore,if it is to be done, let it be done so I can read logical writings from fine people about football and not trivial crap about espn analyts.

  5. GB is NOT losing to NYG on Sunday. The G men are a team on the downward spiral. They’ll finish 7-9 or 8-8 and Couglin will finally get fired.

  6. I want to see Saine get some real playing time. He is just so fast and speed kills. The G men are desperate but desperate teams are truly prone to make big mistakes. I hope the Packers will do a lot of what is known as counter plays to take advantage of the G men desperation. With Saine in there with his speed the G men D will need to crowd the line of scrimage therefore giving our receivers a real chance to get behind them quickly.

It appeared to me in the lions game when the two back up linebackers were in along with Neal. Our defense seemed to move faster/quicker to the ball. I hope this continues.

  7. I am sorry , but anyone who thinks the Packers are losing to the Giants is and idiot , yes an idiot ! The Giants have no seconday , Osi is hurt, they lost at home this year to Seattle and Vince Young looked like and MVP against them , they should have lost to Miami at home. The Giants played Monday night and the Packers have been resting , Giants never win in December and they have not won much at home in the last 3 years , Manning sucks at home. I can not believe everyone did not get the message when I said there was no way we would lose to the Lions , only people who are picking the Giants are the ones trying to be cute and pick the Packers’ first loss.
Packer 30-Giants 17. An some of you foold belieeve Manning is going to put alot of points up , I swear there are people here that dont know the game.

  8. dear jeff….we hear u pal,but how did the gints beat brady and the pats, this year and in the super bowl…some people just sayin it could happen…..jeff, if u think the gints cant beat the packers YOUR THE IDIOT

  9. No Bill , you are the idiot and I will repeat it , you are the idiot , got me ??? Packers won and took the best shot of yet another tteam on the road.
The Giants beat Brady because he got crazy with turnovers , plus , the game was on the road where the Giants play better.
    Bottom line , I was right again…..

  10. And before anyone starts with the ” Oh I am scared about Oakland “, stop it !
