The Good:

Only one Monday night game, so the team can stay on a more regular weekly schedule.

Two home games to finish out the season.

The Packers have the 22nd most difficult schedule, based on 2009 team records. Much better outcome than I expected.

The Bad:

Bye week doesn’t come until week 10. No chance for banged up players to heal for games 7, 8 and 9 against the Vikes, Jets and Cowboys.

No Thanksgiving game. (personal preference – nothing makes me happier than GB on Thanksgiving)

  1. I’m not thrilled with the 4 of 5 road games coming off the bye, but otherwise I’m thrilled with the schedule. I don’t like a Thanksgiving Day game simply because it’s always a road game. And I hate when we play Thursday road games…it’s gotta be murder going into a road game with that short of a rest. If the league would let the Packers host one I’d be all over it. It’ would be so cool to have a Turkey day game in Lambeau.

Someone needs to explain to me how the Vikings get 3 straight home games in December, and finish up in a dome. I hate to go all “conspiracy theory” here, but it sure seems the league wants to make sure Favre doesn’t have to play in any cold weather, outdoor games. With a lockout looming, they want to milk that cash cow until he gets mastitis.

    1. And I’m not thrilled about games 7,8 and 9 against the Vikes, Jets and Cowboys without the benefit of a bye week to heal up…

  2. Al, For as bad as I was predicting degree of difficulty for 2009, I’ve decide to do an MM this year. “One Game at a Time”
