Week 6: Green Bay Packers vs. Baltimore Ravens
Name Record To-Date This Week’s Pick Score Prediction
Kris Burke 1-3 Green Bay Packers 31-27
It will be another “grind it out” win for Green Bay, but the Packers prevail based on two things about Baltimore that are becoming clear: Joe Flacco is very much overpaid and they miss Ray Lewis.
“Jersey” Al Bracco 2-2 Green Bay Packers 24-16
The Packers will travel to Baltimore and pick up a tough road win as the defense stiffens when it needs to and the offense continues to explore it’s new-found balance of run and pass.
Adam Czech 3-1 Green Bay Packers 30-26
Aaron Rodgers and his three WRs make up for a defense playing without Clay Matthews. At times it won’t be pretty, and the Ravens will move the ball, but the Packers grind out just a few more plays than Baltimore and prevail.
Marques Eversoll 3-1 Green Bay Packers 28-27
The Packers haven’t won on the road since Dec. 16, 2012 in Chicago. Yeah, that’s only four games. But still, it’s four games. To me, this is the definition of a toss-up. Before the season, I had the Ravens in this one. And now, (without Matthews) I’m picking the Packers. Makes sense, huh?
Thomas Hobbes 2-2 Green Bay Packers 35-24
Baltimore is wildly inconsistent; they still have the capacity to be the team that won the Super Bowl last year or they can be the team that got steam rolled by the Broncos just 6 months later.  While the Packers haven’t been all that consistent either, a balanced offense and consistent defense will help the Packers win this game.
Cory Jennerjohn 3-1 Green Bay Packers 24-13
I know Joe Flacco got himself a Super Bowl win last season, but I still don’t respect him as a passer. Added to that is Ray Rice’s bad hip and the Ravens will need to get creative just to keep drives alive. Look for Jermichael Finley to get behind a collection of linebackers that is very good at rushing the passer but poor at pass coverage.
Jason Perone 4-0 Baltimore Ravens 24-21
I want to pick the Packers, but this is the type of game that they tend to struggle to win on the road.  Baltimore’s pass offense is depleted and Ray Rice is hurting, but a few turnovers may be the difference.  A late field goal seals it for the Ravens.  Overall, I hope I’m wrong.
Chad Toporski 2-2 Green Bay Packers 23-20
The Ravens are about as up-and-down as the Packers right now. They tend to perform much better at home than on the road, but I think they will fall behind in this contest. Despite some newfound success, Ray Rice will get bottled up by the Green Bay defense.

  1. Packers are down 24-6 at halftime. MM pulls a hamstring and lets one of the fans takeover play calling for the second half. Final score Packers 48-24…yeah baby…

  2. Baltimore’s got a shot. Their defense has been one of the best in the league if you throw out the Denver game, and they have the home field advantage. their front 7 is very talented and the LB group is playing better than probably everyone except San Francisco. The young GB OT’s might struggle with the edge pressure in this game.

On the other hand, Ravens 2ndary can be exploited if Rodgers gets a little time. The whole BAL offense has been miserable this year and I think the Packer D can hold them down, even without Matthews. If GB plays it safe and avoids turnovers, I don’t think Flacco put together enough drives to keep pace with Rodgers.
