After a successful inaugural season in 2012, the AllGBP.com Official Fantasy Football League is back for round two.

We made history a year ago. First, we instituted this prestigious league. And second, we successfully badgered The Boss into playing Fantasy Football for the very first time. Jersey Al used a team-first approach in assembling a group of guys who valued friendship and hustle. As a result, his team went 7-6 in the regular season and earned a spot in the playoffs.

From the Writers Division, Adam Czech and I joined Al in the playoffs. Here are last year’s standings for the Writers:

My team, “Rockwood Lodge” racked up a league-leading 1624 points last season but laid an egg in the playoffs. Unfortunately for the content-producing side of the league, our combined playoff record was 0-3.

The Readers Division ran right through the postseason. Despite top-seeded “Finley Named My Kids” losing a 1.52-point heartbreaker in his first playoff game, the Readers went 5-2 in the playoffs, boasting the league champion “Touched By Ted Thompson.” The champs won the league despite not having a single Green Bay Packer on the final roster.

Here’s how the Readers ended up last season:

Now, one-time Fantasy Ice Bowl Champion Ian, will look to defend his title in 2013 in a 14-team league.

AllGBP added Jason Perone to the staff after the beginning of last year’s fantasy season, so in appreciation of Jason’s ongoing contributions to the site and his overall swell character, he’s being welcomed as the seventh member of the Writers Division. To balance it out, we’ll be adding another team to the Readers side as well.

The draft will take place one week from today on August 18 at 7:00pm Central.

The format of the league will be as follows: 

NOTE: There will be a Prize for the Winner of a $100 Gift Certificate to the Packers Pro Shop and an ALLGBP.com T-shirt!

1) 14 teams split into two divisions

  • “Writers Division” (myself, Jersey Al, Chad, Adam, Kris, Thomas and Jason)
  • “Readers Division” (Last year’s champ, Ian, and six additional readers of this site)

2) Standard Yahoo! PPR league (.2 Points Per Reception)

3) Nine roster positions

  • QB
  • WR
  • WR
  • WR
  • RB
  • RB
  • TE
  • WR/RB
  • DEF

4) Playoffs will be Weeks 14, 15 and 16

  • Six of 14 teams make the Playoffs.

5) Division winners get 1st Round byes in Playoffs

  • Remaining six playoff spots will be seeded by overall record, regardless of division.

6) Draft: Sunday, August 18th at 7:00pm CDT

  19. I need to be in this league. I can’t find a league where every member is active. This would be my 4th year of Fantasy Football. I am a 2-time Champ and 1-time 3rd Place finisher. Please consider me for this league as I will be on it 24/7! #gopackgo

  22. I was so close last year!!!! Injuries, lack of depth, and damn should played any defense going against the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!!!! I also promise not to draft, Tom Crabtree, Greg Jennings, Brett Favre, or any other former Packer who was BRAINWASHED!!!! Can’t risk them infecting my team!!!! Give me another year AL!!!!!

    I’d like to be in a league with some new blood. I have been playing FF since 1992 when I used to have to do league stats by hand from the box scores.

    I’ll even provide a 6 pack of Wisconsin craft beer to the league winner. I wonder what kind I’ll be drinking…
