Johnson does have a red flag, having bounced around between different schools. He initially went to Eastern Kentucky, where he was suspended. He then attended Antelope Valley Community College (Calif.) in 2008, took a season off in 2009, and was at Grand Valley State starting in 2010. On the basis of his strong pro-day workout, Johnson could be selected as high as the fifth round in the 2013 NFL Draft.

SCOUTING REPORT:

No real scouting reports to be found. There is, however, an article comparing him to Miles Austin and Marques Colston. You can also check out another article concerning his Pro Day performance.

COMMENTARY:

We figured the Packers would be addressing the wide receiver position at some point, with Jennings and Driver gone and James Jones in his contract’s final year. Johnson seems to have the physique and athleticism necessary to be a force on the outside. He visited with the Packers in the weeks leading up to the draft, so they’ve had him in their sights.

  1. Looks like a tremendous athlete to develop at WR.

Damn pick #223 right before Packers pick at #224 Pitts takes Nick Williams. They get my sleeper pick. At least he’s going to a 34 D where he can develop.

  2. Does anyone know what is wrong with Da’rick Rogers? I know he has the character concerns and transferring down but you’d think one team would have taken the risk.

  3. So he’s 4.38, 6’2″ and 206 lbs. The only reason someone with those kind of stats drops is attitude. We’ll see.
