Packers Santa Delivers a Chance for a Week Off

Packers Santa

Good news, folks; it seems that Packers Santa has returned to Green Bay for the third straight year.

In 2010, Packers Santa and I took ride on his sleigh and delivered a bag of coal to Mike McCarthy. They had lost two games in a row and three out of their last four. The message came through loud and clear and the Packers went on a six game winning streak that ended with a Super Bowl win over the Steelers in Dallas. Thanks again Santa!

In 2011, the Packers had just had their 19-game winning streak ended by the Chiefs. Packers Santa presented the Packers with some blank paper, in hopes that starting with a clean sheet would propel the Packers on a new winning streak.  Once again, Packers Santa helped the Packers right the ship, as they went out and won their next two games. Unfortunately, the Packers then met their Waterloo against the Giants in the playoffs.

In 2012, Packers Santa didn’t feel the need to send any messages. Instead, he thought it would be better to just reward the Packers for all their hard fought wins with a week off to rest. The Packers have won four in a row and nine of their last ten.  So Packers Santa pulled a few strings and arranged for the Seahawks (how ironic) to beat the 49ers, vaulting the Packers into the position of second seed and a first round playoff bye.

Now, as Packers Santa so succinctly said to me in our Skype conversation, “I can’t do EVERYTHING for these guys.” So it will be up to the Packers to hold onto that position with a win against the Vikings in the final game of the regular season.

The Humpty Dome will be rocking, as the Vikings have a “win and your in” chance to make the playoffs. So we shall surely see just how much the Packers appreciated Santa’s gift. Hopefully, the Packers will close out 2012 on a positive note.

Speaking of closing out the year, I’d like to extend my extreme gratitude and appreciation to all of you who come here and make this site what it is.  Regardless if you’re a regular or just an occasional reader, thank you for being interested in what we have to say. Whether it’s here, or on Facebook or Twitter, you’re comments are so appreciated, (you have no idea how much).

As you may know, we’re branching out into the podcast world, as part of the new Packers Talk Radio Network. We plan to expand on that in 2013 and hopefully bring some more new features to the site.

So to all of you Packers fans out there, on behalf of myself, my writers and Packers Santa, I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy  Hanukkah or the best of whatever holiday you celebrate. May your Holiday season be joyous and filled with cherished memories. And may the Packers earn their week off with a blowout of the Vikings.

GO PACK!!!

And thank you Al for bringing us all the Green Bay Packer articles very week! So many of the other sites are becoming watered down with Lions, Bears, and Vikings stuff that sometimes I wonder if I’m in the wrong place! Thanks again and Merry Christmas to you and the staff at AllGreenBayPackers.com

    1. What he said.

Al, you and your writers are consistently giving us the best written and most well thought out analysis to be found anywhere. Yours is my favorite Packers site on the web.

Keep up the good work and have a happy holiday season.

  3. Merry Christmas Al. This site is the best. Thanks to you and everyone involved, as well as the other readers. Here’s to a great New Year, that will include the Packers’ fifth Super bowl title.

  4. The best thing about this site and CHTV for that matter, is the year round content that helps sustain us when the focus from others moves away from the Pack.

Thank us? No, thank you Jersey Al. And Merry Christmas.

  5. Thanks Al, never posted but I read every day! I predict Niners@Packers for divisional and Packers@Falcons or Seahawks@Packers for championship with Packers over Broncos in superbowl. I can’t decide if seahawks will knock off atlanta in divisional yet. Some rematches are always awesome

  6. I looked at several other sites after packeraddict.com shut down. This is the best I found by far. Keep up the good work.

  7. For those of us all over the world this site means so much. I was without Packer info for years. Then the internet was invented by Al Gore and all is well lol. What can I say but thanks, I can get my fix on a daily basis all year long.

  8. This IS the best Packers website on the Internet. Thanks for the joy it brings me and others, Al.

Now the perfect way to wrap up the regular season is if the Packers can help the Queens get an early start on the off season. We all know how much they’d appreciate the extra rest. Go Pack Go!

  9. Merry Christmas Al, love this site. We all may sometimes disagree on certain Packer issues, But, We all have,at least, one thing in common, We all are passionate about and love our Packers…. Go Pack!
