Week 11: Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions
Name Record To-Date This Week’s Pick Score Prediction
Kris Burke 6-3 Green Bay Packers 28-20
The defense is battered, but the Packers are catching the Lions as Detroit looks to be headed towards a potential tailspin.  Calvin Johnson may have had big numbers last week, but the passing game took time to come to life last week. The Packers hold up against the Lions and Rodgers keeps it rolling with 3 TD passes.
“Jersey” Al Bracco 5-4 Green Bay Packers 31-27
Only the Packers can have a bye week and lose three more starters, two for the season. However, Mike McCarthy’s Packers teams are 5-1 coming off the bye week and I have no doubt they will be well-prepared for the desperate, but just not good enough Lions. It will be a high-scoring affair in the dome and the Packers will prevail.
Adam Czech 6-3 Green Bay Packers 31-21
The Lions are horrible. The Packers are injured. Injured will beat horrible on Sunday. The Lions’ offense will get hot for a stretch, but it won’t be enough to outscore Aaron Rodgers. I’m looking forward to Rodgers going after a Lions secondary that now includes Pat Lee.
Marques Eversoll 6-3 Green Bay Packers 31-24
The Packers are not the same defense without Clay Matthews, so this could end up being a close game. Ultimately, I think the Packers have too many offensive weapons for the Lions to account for. Aaron Rodgers has an Aaron Rodgers-type day, and the Packers put up too many points for the Lions to match. It may be a high-scoring nail-biter, but I think the Packers win on a late touchdown. Packers improve to 7-3.
Thomas Hobbes 6-3 Green Bay Packers 38-31
Losing Clay Matthews hurt; the big question for the Packers now is can the defense play at the same level without a consistent source of pass rush?  Even when Matthews wasn’t rushing the passer, offenses had to account for him and now that Matthews isn’t on the field so it will be interesting to see how offensive lines decide to block the Packers defense.  On offense, hopefully Jordy Nelson is back to 100% after the bye because I think it’s going to end up as a shoot out.
Jason Perone 4-5 Green Bay Packers 24-21
The Packers are starting to get healthy and historically play well after the break.  It will all come down to the play of Aaron Rodgers as I expect the run game to get modest gains.  If the Packers can build an early lead and force Matthew Stafford to throw it 30+ times, the Green Bay secondary should have a chance to make a key play or two.  In the end, the Pack are the better team even without Clay Matthews and a few other starters.  It’s a good road win to start the back half of the season.
Chad Toporski 5-4 Green Bay Packers 35-27
It’s a battle of the walking wounded as the Detroit Lions try to salvage their season and the Green Bay Packers try to inch closer to the division title. The last time these two teams met, Matt Flynn and Jordy Nelson lit up the scoreboard. With a better defense, Aaron Rodgers at the helm, Nelson healthy, and Randall Cobb flying high, it should be another victory for the green and gold.

  1. As someone who has watched every Lions and Packers game this year, you guys are being way, way too generous to the Lions.

Packers love playing down to opponents but Aaron is going to shred the Lions.

    31-17

    1. Be sure to listen to the podcast so you can hear me awkwardly say “thank you” at the end of my segment.

    2. Agree comletely, Wagz.

I don’t think this is going to be a close gam, even with all the injuries on the Packers side of the ball. My gut just says “Solid Win” for the Packers.

I think Packers walk away with a 12 point or more victory.

  2. Green Bay should win 38-27. I like GB and over the total of 52. Fantasy wise, I like Aaron Rogers, James Jones, Randle Cobb, and Jordy Nelson.

  3. Megatron is listed as questionable……is this just mind games or is he really that hurt with only a 50% chance of playing?
