Jamari Lattimore
Jamari Lattimore, DE, Middle Tenn State, is a reported UDFA acquired by the Packers.

It certainly hasn’t taken long for the NFL to return to full operation. Last night, Twitter was a flurry with reports of undrafted free agent negotiations. Here at Jersey Al’s AllGreenBayPackers.com, we highlighted three of the Green Bay Packers’ acquisitions in just the span of one hour.

As of 1:30 p.m. CT, the list has grown from three to 14. Below is a quick breakdown of each reported signing; but don’t worry, we’ll take a more in-depth look at each player in the very near future.

One word of caution, though. These reports have yet to be verified by the Packers front office, so things are always subject to change. Additionally, according to the latest report, actual UDFA signings can’t take place until after 10 a.m. ET today.

We will keep you posted!

Tori Gurley (WR, South Carolina)

“At 6-4, 220 pounds, Gurley is an imposing receiver who surprised some by coming out after just his redshirt sophomore season. At the NFL combine, Gurley ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds, the 20-yard dash in 2.67 and the 10 in 1.62. He also benched 225 pounds 15 times and had a vertical leap of 33.5 inches. He chose not to run at his pro day in March.” (read more)

Shaky Smithson (KR, Utah)

“Smithson was scouted thoroughly by the Packers pre-draft, as he was one of 12 players who made an official visit with the Green Bay before April’s NFL draft. At his pro day in Utah, Smithson ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds, the 20-yard dash in 2.71 and the 10 in 1.65. He also put up 10 reps at 225 pounds and had a vertical leap of 30.5 inches.” (read more)

Sampson Genus (OC, South Florida)

“Genus was not on the Packers official visit list prior to April’s NFL draft. He weighs in at 315 pounds and stands 6-1, prototypical measurements for a center.

“At his pro day, Genus ran the 40-yard dash in 5.51 seconds, bench-pressed 225 pounds 28 times and had a vertical leap of 27 inches. His 20-yard shuffle time was 4.80 seconds. He was invited to the NFL combine but didn’t workout.” (read more)

Anthony Bratton (S, Delaware)

Bratton is another player who visited with the Packers back in April. At 6-0 and 213 pounds, he played strong safety for the Blue Hens, recording 66 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 8 pass deflections in his last season alone. His campus Pro Day workout saw Bratton run the 40-yard dash in 4.46 and 4.50 seconds, register a 37-in. vertical leap, and make a 10-6 broad jump. He tore his ACL in 2009 and was out for two games in 2008 with an ankle injury, but he did play a full 2010 season. (read more)

Jamari Lattimore (LB, Middle Tenn State)

Lattimore arrived at Middle Tennessee State as a 210-pound linebacker and grew to become a 232-pound defensive end with an explosive edge rush. With 21 sacks over three seasons, he ranks second in school history behind none other than current Packers linebacker Erik Walden. He has 29.5 career tackles for a loss and in 2010 earned the Sun Belty Defensive Player of the Year Award, as well as first-team all-conference honors. He has the athleticism to work as a pass-rushing OLB in the Packers’ 3-4 scheme.

Vic So’oto (DE, BYU)

So’oto arrived at Brigham Young as a tight end but left as a 6-3, 265-pound defensive end, with a stint as linebacker along the way. His injury history is a blemish on his college career, but So’oto was able to make First Team All-MWC honors in 2010. At his campus Pro Day, So’oto benched pressed the 225-pound weight 35 times and hit 4.68 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He also recorded a 32 in. vertical, a 9-1 broad jump, and a 4.45 sec. shuttle.

M.D. Jennings (S, Arkasnsas State)

Jennings is a 5-11, 185 pound safety who made the First Team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2010. At his Pro Day, Jennings ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds, the 20-yard dash in 2.66 seconds, and the 10-yard dash in 1.62 seconds. He recorded a 35.5 in. vertical, a 10-5 broad jump, and 7.18 seconds in the 3-cone drill.

Diondre Borel (QB, Utah State)

Though he played quarterback in college, Borel looks to make a transition to wide receiver in the NFL. He is the No. 2 career passer in Utah State history with 6,295 yards. At his Pro Day, Borel ran the 40 in 4.50 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.30 seconds, and the three-cone drill in 7.24 seconds. He had a9-11 broad jump, a 32.5-in. vertical, and 11 reps on the bench press.

Theo Sherman (OL, James Madison)

At 6-3, 302 pounds, Sherman played offensive tackle during his college career, starting for four seasons and selected as Second Team All-CAA in 2010. Sherman benched 17 reps at his Pro Day and recorded a 27.5-in. vertical and 9-0 broad jump. He ran the 40 in 5.26 seconds, the short shuttle in 5.00 seconds, and the 3-cone drill in 7.89 seconds. Though a tackle in college, he could be projected as an offensive guard in the NFL.

Brandon Saine (RB, Ohio State)

Saine is a 5-11, 220-pound running back who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.40 seconds and put up 22 reps and 225 pounds at his Ohio State pro day. He contributed on offense all four years he was a Buckeye, and he finished his career with 1,408 yards rushing and almost 700 yards receiving. He has breakaway speed, and his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield makes him a Darren Sproles-type back.

Kerry Taylor (WR, Arizona State)

The nephew of former 49ers receiving great John Taylor, Kerry obviously has the family pedigree. At 6-1, 200 pounds, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds at his Arizona State pro day. He also had a 38-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot broad jump. According to GIl Brandt of NFL.com, Taylor “caught the ball well and looked fluid during his individual workout.” He finished his career at ASU with 112 catches for 1,433 yards and seven touchdowns.

Ray Dominguez (OL, Arkansas)

Dominguez was invited to the NFL combine, where he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.45 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 21 times. He stands 6-4 and weighs 334 pounds. Dominguez started 32 games at Arkansas, and his senior year he helped pave the way for the school’s first season with a 3,000-yard passer and 1,000-yard rusher. He made starts at both tackle and guard, but guard is his likely position in the NFL.

Eli Joseph (NT, Temple)

Overlooked on Temple’s defensive line by Jets first rounder Muhammad Wilkerson, Joseph quietly put together a first-team All-MAC season in which he posted 44 tackles. At 6-2, 290 pounds, Joseph might be too small to play on the nose in the NFL, but his body fits the mold for a 3-4 defensive end. At his pro day, Joseph ran the 40-yard dash in 5.00 seconds and put up an impressive 43 reps at 225 pounds. He was also a member of the Academic All-MAC team in 2009.

Peanut Joseph (LB, Temple)

Peanut is the twin brother of Eli, and at 6-1 and 243 pounds, Joseph anchored the middle of Temple’s defense. A second team All-MAC performer his senior year, Joseph tallied 71 tackles before ending his season with a knee injury at Ohio. His junior year, Joseph was a first team All-MAC honoree. At his pro day, Joseph didn’t run the 40 because of his knee but posted 31 reps at 225 pounds. He had 28 career starts at middle linebacker.

  1. Yeah that’s right that is my cousin Vic So’oto! And he is playing for my favorite team 🙂 Hell yeahers!

    1. That’s cool that Vic is your cousin. His measurables look really intriguing. Outside LB, perhaps?

      1. Bart, that’s exactly what I was thinking based purely on his numbers.. Ht, Wt,Strength and speed combination is screaming out prototypical 3-4 OLB. The question is, does he have coverage and pass rush skills? He certainly has the measurables.

  2. Excited to see what Vic and Jamari can do. Tori Gurley looks like he will trouble seperating, but I like adding a different body type to our WR Corp.

Shaky Smithson has a great back story, had his little brother live with him in college. Hope he atleast makes it on the practice squad. He has some tools.

    1. Tori’s body type sounds like a less bulky version of either Jordy Nelson or Ruvell Martin.

  3. I was glad this site put out previews of top free agents, however now I’m bummed it appears the Pack will not get any of the ones Al, Pigskin Paul or Zach mentioned.

    Who is this Gurley man?
And do we want a kick returner named Shakey?

    1. I remember watching Gurley during the Combine drills and really liking what I saw. A BIG target, could be a very good possession receiver type. And then there’s the jump ball possibilities in the end zone…

  4. Let me know when they pack signs addison, thornton and Fannin. Gurley is an intriguing guy, very young. Similar to Finley in that he came out early. Give him a year on the practice squad and see how he looks next year.

  5. Chicago Trib reports that Addison signed w/ Dud Bears. Thorton signed w/ the Eagles. Broncos reportedly signed Fannin.

    1. thanks for the info bubba. addison is a terrible fit for the bears. how is he anything but a 3-4 OLB? Fannin could blow up for the broncos with john fox.

      1. Turns out Mario Addison isn’t on Dud Bears final list. The writer wasn’t sure if they’re waiting to sign him or he has moved on.

  6. This would normally be a major ho-hum, yeah, a bunch of camp fodder. But TT has me wondering which of these is going to be the next Sam Shields.
